Professional Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening treatment is one of our most popular cosmetic services because of its affordability and dramatic results. At LuxSmile, we offer both in-office and at-home options to give you a whiter smile in the most convenient way for you.

In-Office: Opalescence Boost

Our Opalescence Boost in-office treatment is professionally applied to your teeth by Dr. Ton to achieve hassle-free results in as little as an hour. While you’re in the treatment chair, Dr. Ton will place a protective barrier to make sure the whitening solution doesn’t get on your tongue or lips. She’ll then place a special barrier along your gumline to ensure that your gums don’t come into contact with the solution.

She’ll apply the first application of the whitening gel to your teeth and let it sit for about 20 minutes. After that, it’ll be suctioned off of your teeth and evaluate the difference in tooth shade. Some patients require an additional application, depending on the severity of their staining. Within an hour, your treatment will be finished.

At-Home: Opalescence Go

For patients who would like to achieve beautiful and drastic results in the comfort of their own homes, we also offer Opalescence Go. We’ll provide you with a take-home kit that contains prefilled whitening trays available in two different flavors and concentrations. The tray ensures molar-to-molar coverage and even whitening across your entire smile. Plus, the tray is comfortable and easily conforms to the shape of your teeth. Within two weeks, you’ll be able to notice visible results.

At LuxSmile Family Dentistry of Carrollton, we know you want your smile to look and feels its best. With teeth whitening, you can see a dramatic difference in your appearance in very little teeth, no matter if you choose in-house or at-home treatment. But you may have a lot of questions about the process and whether it is worth the investment. We understand, which is why we’ve compiled some frequently asked questions for you to review before your consultation. If at any point you would like to inquire about other aspects of our teeth whitening treatments, please don’t hesitate to contact our office.

Does over-the-counter teeth whitening work?

While you might see a slight difference in your smile when using store-bought products, the reality is you will likely be underwhelmed by the results. Why? There are a few reasons:

  1. The bleaching gel they use is typically not professional grade, so it will require you to purchase additional kits, which can lead to damaged teeth as you attempt to brighten your smile.
  2. The products can often irritate your soft oral tissues, leaving you to forgo the whitening process altogether. This means you’ve spent time and money on a product that doesn’t deliver results and is uncomfortable in the process.

Does teeth whitening make your teeth sensitive?

Initially, you may have slight tooth sensitivity immediately following a whitening treatment; however, this dissipates quickly. Using the Opalescence Boost and Opalescence Go systems, the products minimize this common dental problem, allowing you to enjoy your new and improved smile without any worry.

You should never experience lingering sensitivity, so if you do, make sure to contact our office as soon as possible.

Is everyone a candidate for teeth whitening?

Unfortunately, no, not everyone is a qualified candidate for teeth whitening. While most are, individuals who grind their teeth or have various restorations will be unlikely candidates. Although you can still have your natural teeth whitened even while wearing a dental crown or bridge, the prosthetic itself cannot be whitened. This can cause your smile to appear uneven, further bringing attention to your restoration.

Also, people with cavities or gum disease should have these problems addressed first before moving forward with any type of cosmetic treatment.

What are the benefits of at-home whitening?

If you would rather whiten your smile at home, you will find there to be numerous benefits to this type of treatment, some of which include:
